Anna Karolina Kaczmarczyk
My name is Anna Karolina Kaczmarczyk. I am a painter and illustrator
from Poland. I have been living and working in Leipzig for four years.
In May 2013, I obtained an MA degree in painting from the Academy of
Fine Arts in Kraków (Poland). In the same year, I began a
Meisterschülerstudium in illustration at HGB Leipzig, which I
graduated from in 2016.
Thanks to the experience of eight years of studying in art schools in
two countries, I learned different approaches to craft and technique
that helped me to develop my own ideas and projects.
During my studies at the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts, I spent a year
(2010-2011) on the Erasmus exchange program in Leipzig.
Currently I am a member of the art collective Yacht Club Leutzsch,
where I have my own atelier and participate in the artists’ community
as well.
In addition to painting, my other fields of work are illustration and
comics. In 2014, I published my comic book „Długa historia” („A Long
Story”) in the publishing house Centrala. Additionally, I am the
author of a satirical Polish webcomic „Karp Lagerfeld i inne ryby
sukcesu”, which is followed online by more than seven thousand people
and was nominated for a prize for Polish independent comic
publications.
I participated in numerous projects and workshops and in over forty
group as well as individual exhibitions in Germany, Poland and other
countries.
I teach drawing and painting classes for children and adults.
